Three small housing projects on planning board plate
The Columbia Falls planning board will take a look at several small projects at its July 9 meeting.
The first is an application by Michael and Maria Tamburelli to subdivide a 1.1-acre lot at 1899 Riverwood drive into two parcels.
The second is a conditional use permit application for a drive-through coffee stand on Nucleus Avenue and A Street Northwest by Quad Shot LLC.
The third is a conditional use permit application for a six-plex apartment building at 10 Diane Road by Alpine Homes and Ryan Blanchette.
The planning board meets at city hall starting at 6:30 p.m. City council will take up the applications at its Aug. 5 meeting at 7 p.m.
In other news:
- The council Monday finished going over the final changes to the city’s municipal code. The last chapter concerned city sewer and water regulations. All told, about 10 pages of that chapter have been trimmed.
- Council learned the city pool bond is now paid off. That amounts to a tax rebate of about $27 on a home assessed for $200,000.
- Council learned that the new quint fire truck the department recently purchased ended up costing about $6,000 less than budgeted for, so the city’s loan to itself from the Cedar Creek Trust was that much less.
