Please leash dogs

To any and all dog walkers in Columbia Falls ... River’s Edge Park is a great resource for all folks in Columbia Falls. Beautiful setting, nice open spaces, a nice stroll to the river, and a great place to take your pooch for a walk! I appreciate that dog waste bags are supplied to visitors and that there are garbage cans for our use, too. But fellow dog owners must also follow the rule of all dogs must be on a leash!

I love dogs, walk mine at rivers edge park quite often. However, I’ve owned a handful of dogs over my life to know that they can do some unpredictable things when confronting other dogs or different people for that matter. Despite our thinking that us dog owners know our pets “so well” please keep your pet leashed while using these public spaces! Had a dog owner just last week frantically trying to get her dog back on her leash once she realized I was there with my dog (which was leashed, always is). The owner eventually managed to get to her dog, leash it and apologize profusely to me about not having it on a leash. She was obviously very worried, based her actions, that her dog was capable of harming my dog.

Keep it leashed!
