The Columbia Falls boys basketball team fell just short against Polson Saturday night at home, 47-44.

Down by as many as 13 in the second half, the Wildcats cut the margin to just three with eight seconds left against the Pirates, but a deep three by senior Drew Morgan missed the mark as time expired and the Pirates held on for the win.

The Cats had a rough night shooting, hitting just 33 percent from the field. Morgan led the squad with 16.

The Columbia Falls girls basketball team meanwhile trounced Polson on the road 81-25 and were up 39-9 at the end of the first quarter.
