Women’s luncheon

Columbia Falls Women’s Connection will have a luncheon on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 11:30 a.m. at the North Valley Hospital Community Room in Columbia Falls. Guest speakers will be Brave Dog Yarn Shop and Sue Hascall a former special ed teacher and musician will share her story of how she has struggled with acceptance. Donations of nonperishable food items will be accepted for the Columbia Falls Food Bank. Cost is $8 and all women are welcome to attend. For reservations, call Candy at 387-4119 or Janet at 892-3621 by 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18. Affiliated with Stonecroft Ministries.

Wolf program

Renowned wolf biologist Diane Boyd will present a program on the status of the wolf recovery program at the Monday, Feb. 11 Flathead Audubon program from 7-9 p.m. at the Gateway West Community Room in Kalispell. Boyd began studying wolf recovery in the Rockies when the first wolf walked down from Canada and successfully colonized northwestern Montana in 1979. The talk is free and open to the public.

Metals Class

Come take a fun introduction to metals class at Columbia Falls High School. Safely learn oxyacetylene brazing, welding and cutting, electric arc welding both shielded arc (stick) and metal inert gas (wire). Other metal working procedures done per student interests. Classes will meet on Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the high school metal shop, Feb. 6, 13, 20, 27, March 6, 13, 20 and April 3, 10 and 17. Cost is $110.00 for district 6 and $120 for out of district. Sign ups and payments may be made at Columbia Falls High School office before the first class. Instructor is Rod Cogliati. Job fair

The Columbia Falls High School Wildcat Job Fair is Feb. 21 at the high school gym with a job fair for students from 1 to 3 p.m. and a community job far from 4 to 6 p.m. Businesses will be recruiting seasonal and year-round employment. Chamber meets

The Columbia Falls Chamber’s lunch is at 11:45 a.m. Feb. 12 at the North Valley Community room on Nucleus Avenue. Guest speaker is Glacier National Park Superintendent Jeff Mow.
