Rotary Club's Night of Lights, Brunch with Santa coming up
The 34th annual Night of Lights parade and Brunch with Santa is coming up this weekend in Columbia Falls. The parade is 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 down Nucleus Avenue and is sponsored by the Columbia Falls Rotary.
This year’s theme is “A Christmas Celebration.” The event features a host of floats and other events, including music, crafts shows and other vendors.
Lineup for the floats begins at 5 p.m. with judging at 5:30 p.m. The craft shows start at 4 p.m. at the North Valley Community Center on Nucleus.
Folks are asked to please not have Santa Claus on their floats and to not throw candy from their floats, but to hand it out if they wish. Santa and Mrs. Claus traditionally are the last float of the parade.
After the parade, enjoy live music and a bonfire at the Coop and visit with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. The “Columbians”, “Holiday Dessert” and “Sonifers” will be caroling and playing music.
Registration forms are on the Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce website. The Columbia Falls Rotary Club’s Brunch with Santa is 9:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 7 at Timber Creek Village assisted living center in Columbia Falls. This annual event raises funds for Rotary projects and gives kids a chance to visit with Santa and have a free picture taken. The brunch is $10 for adults and children are free with a paid adult
It’s the major fundraiser for the year and helps support projects in the community.
