Shirley L Sweeney

Shirley L. Sweeney passed away Nov. 18 surrounded by family. Shirley was born Feb. 13, 1939 in Minnesota. She moved to the Flathead in 1964.

Shirley enjoyed spending time with family, tending to her plants and garden and baking. One of the strongest, most selfless women, she would give anything to bring happiness to those she loved. She was always going and never slowed down.

Shirley is survived by her children, Mike Sweeney and his wife Tina; Pat Sweeney and his wife Theresa; Tammy Wood and her husband Dick; Dusty Sweeney and his wife Delta; Rusty Sweeney and his wife Shan; Joy Tovey, Gene Sweeney, Louise Mallot. Shirley is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with others she took under her wing along the way.

A service will be held Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church at 640 7th Street West in Columbia Falls. Lunch will follow at Mike Sweeney’s house at 66 8th Street West in Hungry Horse.
