A host of concerts are on tap this month

Area schools will be hosting a number of holiday concerts over the next few weeks. Here’s a look at what’s coming up:

Ruder Elementary will have its Christmas programs on Dec. 18 and 19. Kindergarten and first grade are at 1:15 p.m. Dec. 18 at the school; fourth and fifth grades are 9:15 a.m. Dec. 19 and second and third grades are at 10:15 a.m. Dec. 19.

Glacier Gateway will host its Holiday Music Program in the Upper Gym Dec. 19. The Kindergarten will perform at 9:30 a.m., followed by the first and second grades as well as Mrs. Cos and Ms. LaSalle’s third grade classes at 10:30 a.m. The third grade classes of Mrs. Hess and Mr. Miller will join the fourth and fifth grades for a performance at 1:30 p.m.

Deer Park School will host its Winter Holiday Program Dec. 19. The evening starts with desserts with Santa at 5:45 p.m. and performances will start at 6:30 p.m.

The West Glacier School Winter Music Program is scheduled for Dec. 17 from 4:30 until 5:30 p.m.

The Columbia Falls Junior High will have two musical programs this holiday season. The seventh and eighth grade choir concert will be Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. and the sixth grade band and choir concert will be at 6 p.m. on Dec. 19. Both concerts will be in the cafetorium.

On the high school end, the Columbia Falls drumline will march in the Night of lights parade Dec. 6. The Sonifers and Columbians will be at the Coop after the parade.

The Holiday Choir Concert will be at 7 p.m. on Dec. 10 in the Little Theater. Community members and alumni are invited to sing along on “Carol of the Bells.”

The High School Holiday Band Concert will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 18 in the Little Theater.

There will also be Jazz Cafe at Cedar Creek Lodge Dec. 20 at 6:30 p.m., featuring the Jazz Factory, Columbians, and Sonifers. As a fundraiser for CFHS Bands, donations will be taken at the door. Cookies and coffee will be served.
