No. 1656 Public Notice Special Education Records Destruction 04/15/19 The Columbia Falls Schools will soon destroy special education records of former students born in 1992. Former students may contact the Columbia Falls School District Six Special Services office within sixty days of this notice if they wish to review the files or receive the information contained in them. The data to be destroyed shall include information collected for identification, location, evaluation, and other items directly related to special education services which the student had received. Parents of students still in school but not in special education for at least five years may also request that their children's records be destroyed. Parents of these students also have the right to inspect the special education records and obtain the information contained in those records before they are destroyed. No. 1657 RESOLUTION NO. 358 DISPOSITION OF ABANDONED, OBSOLETE AND UNDESIRABLE PROPERTY A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 6, COLUMBIA FALLS, MONTANA TO DISPOSE OF ABANDONED, OBSOLETE AND UNDESIRABLE PROPERTY THROUGH THE SALES OR OTHER MEANS, AS PROVIDED BY SECTION 20-6-604, MCA. WHEREAS, it has been determined certain personal or real property as documented in a list available in the Columbia Falls School District Business Office has become abandoned, obsolete and undesirable by School District No. 6 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of Trustees will dispose of this property through the sale or other means commencing on May 3, 2019, which will be at least 14 days after notice of this resolution has been made in the manner required in Section 20-20-204, MCA. No. 1658 RESOLUTION #360 BOARD OF EDUCATION SCHOOL DISTRICT #6 Boys and Girls Club Facility WHEREAS, in an effort to promote a healthier and more vibrant community, the Board of Trustees preliminarily approve the conveyance of real property to be used for the construction of a Boys and Girls Club facility. WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 20-6-604 of the School Laws of Montana, the trustees of School District Six may sell or otherwise dispose of real or personal property which has become surplus for the school purposes of the district. This Resolution may not become effective for 14 days after the publication and posting requirements set forth in Section 20-20-204 of the School Laws of Montana are met. Any taxpayer may appeal this resolution prior to May 8, 2019, to the district court, filing a verified petition with the clerk of such court, and serving a copy of such petition upon the district. The petition shall set out in detail the objections of the petitioner to the adoption of the resolution or the disposal of the property. BE IT RESOLVED, that School District Six declares approximately 35,000 square feet of the land at the Ruder Elementary site as surplus property to be disposed of. The District intends to sell the property to the Boys and Girls Club. The transfer of property will be accomplished by a sale upon mutual agreement to the terms of a unique and separate conveyance agreement. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the transfer shall be conditioned upon the occurrence of several events, including but not limited to: -School District Board of Trustees consensus determination; upon review of the final proposed building plans detailing the structure to be built and the purpose(s) for which it will be used, that such are consistent with the District's goals and objectives. -Demonstration by the Boys and Girls Club that it has sufficient funds to complete the entire construction project without taking on indebtedness. -School District Board of Trustees determination that at the time of transfer the District is in a sufficient financial position to afford the conveyance of real property and that the real property transfer will benefit the District taxpayers. -The creation and adoption of a conveyance agreement and other documents containing terms that among others limit the scope of the use of the real property, reconveys the real property to the District upon the happening of particular events, and indemnifies the District from the activities that occur on the real property.
