Alfred E. Maeder

Alfred E. Maeder was born on Aug. 26, 1931 to John and Naomi Maeder in Great Falls. He was the eighth of 12 children. He grew up in Hughsville Windom and later Stanford. He joined the Army and after discharge worked various jobs in the Great Falls area. He married and moved to Columbia Falls with his family in 1964 so he could pursue his passions of hunting, fishing, hiking and camping in the woods. He was employed at the Aluminum Plant until he retired.

He is preceded in death by 10 of his siblings with only his sister Dolly surviving. He is also preceded in death by his grandson Timothy Attard.

He is survived by his daughter Judy Krieter and her husband Barry of Kalispell, and his daughter Sherry Attard and her husband John of Columbia Falls. He is also survived by grandsons Tony Attard of Kalispell and Tom Attard of Missoula, their wives Catie and Amanda and 10 great-grandchildren.

No services are planned. His ashes with be scattered on Columbia Mountain at a later date. Any donations can be given to the Montana Veterans’ Home where he spent the last 12 years of his life.
