Oct. 5

A car went off Veterans Drive and struck a power pole and now they’re stuck. An ex-husband was harassing an ex-wife. A 4-year-old girl with no shoes was wandering around on Fourth Avenue. She escaped when mom was taking a nap. A kid had a bump on his head from talking back to his mother. Drugs were found in a trash can. Police were setting up spikes to stop a car they were pursuing through the Canyon that had inactive plates.

Oct. 6

A woman called asking for more patrol near her mom’s house in Columbia Falls because her sister was getting out of jail and she wasn’t sure what she’d do.

Oct. 7

A male was sleeping in a sleeping bag in the trees off Highway 2. Kids were beating up a mailbox on Third Avenue. Semi-automatic rifle fire and ricocheting bullets had folks calling police on North Hilltop. A 14-year-old was drunk on Everclear, a girlfriend’s mother was assaulting a sister all at once on Diane Road. A grandson who just got out of jail was threatening his grandma. Copper Mountain Coffee kept setting off its own burglar alarm.

Oct. 8

A dog barked for a couple of hours on 12th Street. Remember those unruly tenants on Diane Road? The landlord was in the process of evicting them. Hit and run on Nucleus Avenue. Two kids on Diane Road were taken from their family by child protective services. A newspaper delivery driver was asleep in a car, so someone called the cops, said it was suspicious. A driver who claimed to be having a heart attack may have also been drunk when stopped on U.S. Highway 2.

Oct. 9

Someone claimed hound dogs on Fourth Avenue were not being fed, but cops thought they were lean, but healthy enough. Fender bender on 13th.

Oct. 10

A man said someone slashed his tires and stole stuff out of his car on Highway 2.

Oct. 11

A protester outside the high school was moved to the other side of the street. Someone stole a rockhopper bike from in front of a house. Someone stole $540 cash from an apartment at Meadow Lake, a person claimed. An addiction counselor called police to say his client had arrived to a session drunk. A father showed up at cheerleading practice asking his estranged daughter for her new phone number. A man on Eighth Avenue was apparently “done” with his wife and kids. Police said he was better off away from the family for the night.

Oct. 12

A person complained that an elderly woman ran a stoplight and hadn’t been paying attention when she drove for several months now. A woman called to complain that some high school boys had pushed her ailing car into the alleyway. One person went to the hospital after two cars collided in front of Parkside Credit Union. Someone reported a reckless driver that ran a red light on Highway 2.

Oct. 13

A party called to say a large black dog at Fran Lou Park had tore up their trash. Ambulance was called to a home where a man was either having a seizure or maybe had attempted suicide. Report of a males and female fighting on 8th Street, with the man saying, at one point, “Go ahead and shoot.”

Oct. 14

Someone called to say they thought drug deals were going down on 13th Street. Gun shots or a hammer heard on Riverwood Lane, caller wasn’t sure.

Oct. 15

A woman called police for advice on her daughter who dropped out of school. A runaway juvenile may be with her brother, who does drugs, a caller said. Disturbance on 9th Street where a woman was cutting herself and hitting her brother. A couple was fighting on Diane Road.
