Wildkats go 1-2 at state volleyball tournament, Kehr All-State
Senior Wildkat volleyball player Ryley Kehr was named to the Class A All-State team after Columbia Falls went 1-2 at the state tournament in Bozeman over the weekend.
Kehr led the Wildkats in kills in two of their three games at state and also led or shared the lead in blocks in all three games.
Hannah Schweikert and Angellica Street were named to the All-Northwest Conference second team.
The Wildkats opened the tournament against Billings Central, falling to the Rams in four sets, 20-25, 25-15, 25-17, 25-14.
Kehr led the way with 20 of the Kats’ 44 kills in the contest and also had five of the team’s 10 blocks.
Schweikert had 34 assists and Lauren Falkner served three aces while Street recorded 19 digs.
The Kats bounced back with a win over Glendive as they downed the Red Devils in an exciting five-set matchup, 27-25, 14-25, 25-18, 22-25, 15-13.
Kiera Brown had 11 kills to lead the C-Falls attack while Schweikert added 32 assists and 20 digs. Kehr had three blocks and Street served two aces.
The Kats took Libby to five sets for the second straight time in their final matchup of the tournament, falling to the Lady Loggers, 24-26, 26-24, 15-25, 25-18, 15-9.
Kehr had 13 of the Kats’ 36 kills in the contest while Schweikert had all 33 assists and five of the team’s seven aces. Street had 24 digs and Madysen Hoerner added 19 of the team’s 89 while Kehr and Brown each had two of the Wildkats’ nine blocks.
Billings Central defeated Belgrade to claim the state title.
