More roads open in Glacier Park
Glacier National Park plows were beyond Big Bend in the Grouse Point area as of presstime, which is less than 3 miles from Logan Pass on the Going-to-the-Sun Road.
On the east side, they’re between Jackson Glacier overlook and Siyeh Bend as of late last week.
More roads have opened in the Park. The Many Glacier and Two Medicine Roads are both open for the season, though the Sun Road was not open to Avalanche as of presstime. The Inside North Fork Road is now open to Logging Creek Ranger Station and the Bowman Lake Road is open. The road to Kintla Lake was closed because of flooding. The Quarter Circle Bridge Road was closed due to flooding as well.
Low elevation trails in the Park have largely melted out, but higher terrain, even at places like Marias Pass, which usually melts out a bit faster, had a lot of snow on the ground, particularly in the trees, as of late last week.
This week should bring more warm, sunny weather, with a chance of a late-day shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon.
