Former Wildkat basketball star Sydney Hovde will be playing for the Skylights of Montana State University- Northern next season, the school announced last week.
A member of the 2017 Wildkat state championship team, the 6-foot Hovde led the Northwest Athletic Conference in offensive rebounding this season, averaging five per game while playing an average of 28 minutes for the Cardinals.
“Sydney is a good addition for us. She brings size and rebounding, and she comes in with a quality year of college basketball under her belt at North Idaho. She plays hard and will be a great fit in our program,” Skylights head coach Chris Mouat said. “The fact that Sydney does a great job on the offensive boards is big for us. She averaged five a game and is really efficient around the basket. She finishes well inside and gets excellent position.”
