Charlotte M. Packard

Charlotte M. Packard of Columbia Falls went into the arms of the Lord on May 16, 2018.

Charlotte lived independently and on her own terms up until two weeks prior to her death due to a sudden stroke.

Charlotte’s hobbies included socializing either in person, phone or Facebook and crafting of many kinds, her favorites were crocheting and card making. We all looked forward to and enjoyed the many handmade gifts.

Charlotte was born April 3rd, 1938 in Corvallis, Oregon but raised in several spots in Oregon, the most memorable being Mary’s Peak. The family lived at the lookout tower during World War II. Charlotte and her brother Bob would watch for planes and pretend to report sightings while her dad did the real reporting. Charlotte was the oldest of five children and the only girl growing up, later in life Charlotte met her three half sisters from her dad’s second marriage in Michigan.

Charlotte is survived by her brother Robert Barclay and his wife Kathy of Grants Pass, Oregon; a step-brother Ron and his wife Alice of North Bend, Oregon; and two sisters in Michigan Shelly and Pam. She is also survived by a son Rick Gordon of Kalispell, and two daughters, Glenda Cheetham of Hungry Horse, and Mechelle Anderson of Whitefish. Charlotte also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren plus many nieces, nephews and people she wrapped her arms around and called family.

Charlotte was preceded in death by two sons, Brian Rosenfield and Bruce Healy along with her brother Bruce Barclay and a sister Rene Barron.

Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls is caring for Charlotte

There will be a graveside service on May 26 at 11 a.m. with a gathering afterwards at 291 Possum Trail, Whitefish, to share food and stories and to remember what Nana liked best, togetherness!

Her grandson Tyler Kruse will officiate opening it up at the end for anyone wanting to speak of remembrances.

Pallbearers are Frank Anderson, Link Cheetham, Brian Kruse, Mike Kruse, Sam Jeude, Brad Adams, Cody Welch and Mark Crowley.
