Students do well in math competition
Thirty-eight sixth through eighth grade students from Columbia Falls Junior High participated in the 2018 Montana Council of Teachers of Mathematics Regional Math Contest at Flathead Valley Community College recently. Students competed in number concepts, dimensions and shapes, potluck, foundations, and team tests. Students who earned an honorable mention scored in the top 35 percent of their grade and students who earned a superior scored in the top 15 percent of their grade.

Two students received special recognition by earning top scores compared to all 7th and 8th grade participants in Montana. Sheridan Skerritt (7th grade) earned 2 Superior scores (top 15 percent) and Julia Martin (8th grade) earned 1 Honorable Mention (top 35 percent) and 1 Superior (top 15 percent) scores in Montana.
