Jarretts celebrate 70th anniversary
Jack and Vera Jarrett of Columbia Falls celebrated their 70th anniversary with family and friends April 20 at an open house hosted by their daughter and son-in-law Judydel and Jim R. Perry. Their anniversary cake was made by their granddaughter.
The couple were married April 17, 1948, in Great Falls. They lived in Lewistown and moved to Columbia Falls in 1949. They ran a taxi service with Vera’s parents, Lee and Della Smith, during the building of the Hungry Horse Dam and aluminum plant, doubling as police/fire dispatchers. Jack was a lineman and member of IBEW 768 for 70 years.
The Jarretts traveled most of the United States with work and retirement, including Alaska and Hawaii.
They also enjoyed camping and fishing together. Jack was also an avid hunter.
Jack and Vera have been blessed with a daughter, Judydel, and husband, Jim R., five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
