C-Falls Swim team takes second at Bitterroot Invitational, fifth in Shelby
The Columbia Falls swim team has already been in action three times this summer, swimming at meets in Shelby, Hamilton and Chester.
The team started off the season with a fifth-place finish in Shelby June 9-10 as Kensley Cheff led the way with a pair of first-place finishes. Cheff earned her top finishes in the 25-yard breaststroke (8&U) with a time of 31.81 seconds and in the 25-yard backstroke with a time of 25.79 seconds. Cheff was also second in the 25-yard freestyle.
Tristan Crane was first in the 50-yard breaststroke (11-12) with a time of 44.38 seconds and Camille Cronk was first in the 100 freestyle (9-10) with a time of 1:30.75.
Cronk was also second in the 50-yard freestyle while Thane Borgen was second in the 200-yard individual medley (11-12) and the 50-yard butterfly, Avery Role was second in the girls 200-yard individual medley (11-12), Connor Cheff was second in the 100-yard breaststroke (13-14) and Molley Bagely was second in the 50-yard butterfly (9-10)
Cronk was the top finisher for the team at the Bitterroot Invitational in Hamilton June 16-17 as she earned three first-place finished as the team came in second overall.
Cronkâs first-place finishes came in the age 9-10 division in the 50-yard freestyle (35.39 seconds), 100-yard freestyle (1:18.67) and the 50-yard backstroke (42.18 seconds).
Remmington Bussard was first in the 100-yard freestyle (9-10) with a time of 1:33.22 while Teagan Bates was second and Christopher Carlin was third.
Kaylee King also had a top finish in the 200-yard freestyle (11-12) with a time of 2:43.70 and was second in the 50-yard butterfly.
Borgen was second in the 200-yard individual medley, Crane was second in the 50-yardfreestyle (11-12), Kensley Cheff was second in the 25-yard breaststroke, Jeremiah Venegas was second in the 100-yard freestyle and the 50-yard butterfly (13-14), Tyler Venegas was second in the 50-yard backstroke (11-12), Talon Borgen was second in the 25-yard butterfly (8&U) and Eddy Foster was second in the 50-yard butterfly (9-10),
The team was in action at a meet in Chester over the weekend.

The team will be on the road again Friday and Saturday in Cut Bank.
