Institute classes

The Glacier Institute has a host of interesting classes this month. On Friday, June 15, Rich Sheremeta will help the intermediate level photographer improve his or her skills with nature photography in “Nature Photography in Glacier National Park”. In this course, you will learn “How to make a photograph” versus just taking a snapshot.

The Glacier Institute also invites birders to flock to Field Camp. On June 15-16, expert birder Denny Olson, who possesses an intimate knowledge of Glacier’s unending hideaways, is instructing “Birding by Ear” and on June 23-24, instructor Dave Shea will give students an in depth look into the life histories, habits, physical characteristics, distribution, and management policies of Glacier’s full suite of birds of prey in the “Birds of Prey” course. This course will focus, in particular, on the bald eagle population in the Park, and why it has risen and fallen dramatically in recent years.

The Glacier Institute is now enrolling for these courses and many others throughout the summer. Previous experience is not necessary for any Glacier Institute courses. More information can be found online at www.glacierinstitute.org or by emailing register@glacierinstitute.org.
