A woman was staying in a city park because a bear at her place on Witty Lane kept getting into her stuff, she claimed. She was told to be out of the park by 7 a.m.

A person claimed that their credit card was used to buy a couple of phones. Female residents wanted a male removed that stood on the porch and grinned at them. Police were called to help Child Protective Services remove two children from a house after the woman slammed the caseworker’s foot in the door.

A driver who was apparently having a medical condition was running through the construction cones on Highway 2. Workers had to run out of the way. Report of confused drivers near Burger King, as the construction cones were messed up.

June 1

Report of a guy taking a car that wasn’t his to take. Police were alerted about a bipolar subject that might be in Columbia Falls and could be violent. Police were asked to be on the lookout for a man with dementia who was wandering around town. Woman called to say she was going to end her life with a butcher knife.

June 2

Fender bender on Fourth Street. Report of someone either burning grass or smoking grass; at any rate, reporting party wanted it stopped. He had asthma and it was blowing into his window. Possible structure fire on Hodgson Road.

Report of a woodstove stolen from a construction site.

A woman’s ex-boyfriend kept sending threatening text messages saying he was going to shoot her, family members claimed. Police told him to have no more contact with the woman. A 1-1/2-year-old managed to lock itself into the bathroom. Parties got the door opened before police arrived. A neighbor was threatening to poison another neighbor’s dog. Police advised against that.
