Community Market

The Columbia Falls Community Market is 5 p.m. Thursday, July 26 at the Coop. Featured music will be John Dunnigan and New Wave Time Trippers.

Blood Drive

A blood drive in honor of Columbia Falls High School student Kimberly Peacock, who is battling leukemia, will be held Aug. 1 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the North Valley Hospital Conference Room at 235 Nucleus Ave., Columbia Falls. For more information or to reserve a spot, call 897-2104.

Free dinner

The free Canyon community dinner held in the Hungry Horse School is Thursday July 26 with burgers and dogs served with all the trimmings. To complete our dinner we are serving macaroni salad, slaw, and a surprise dessert. Come early and have a cup of coffee and mingle and remember dinner will be served between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Call Flo 250-3406 or Luann 261-1083 with questions.

Lions concert

The weekly Thursday night Lion’s Club concert features the Flathead Valley Community Band at 7:30 p.m. at Marantette Park. Cost is a $3 donation per person or $5 per family.

Fair entries

The deadline for entering various Northwest Montana Fair competitions is Aug. 1 at 4:30 p.m. Entering is free, but all entries must be complete before deadline. There are different divisions for Open Competition and 4H and FFA Clubs, but they all share the same deadline.

Open competitions departments are crafts, dahlias, gladiolus, eggs, honey and dairy products, fine arts, floriculture, home culinary, needlework and photography. Agriculture, beef cattle, dairy cattle goats, horse show, llama/alpaca, miniature horses, pocket pals, poultry, rabbits and sheep also take entries for open competitors.

All other departments are 4H and FFA sponsored, so check online to make sure your class, division and department align with the item you want to enter. Please refer to individual department information as to the dates and times when exhibitors/competitors should bring their items for display.
