July 3

A woman gave a man a ride home. Now he was sending her death threats. On First Avenue, person complained about cars being revved up at 4 a.m. A suitcase was left next to a telephone pole. A nephew gave a man a dog. It then attacked his own dog, so he wanted it taken away. A rig stolen in Polson may have been spotted in Columbia Falls. Someone called to say there was a suspicious car in their neighborhood and they wondered if it may be linked to dog thefts.

July 4

Scouts were doing honor guard, so blank gunshots may be heard. A transient male was sleeping in the backyard of a church. A 5-year-old locked herself into a room and the family was worried that they couldn’t hear anything. They wanted police to help get her out. Two truck drivers were throwing beer cans at each other.

July 5

A poodle bit a jogger at Meadow Lake. Report of elder abuse. Police said woman seemed OK. Lots of fireworks at Cedar Pointe. A woman called police because her husband wasn’t back with her prescription. Turned out there was a longer wait than he expected. She thought he may have been hurt in a wreck.

July 6

Two vehicle accident on 9th Street. Report of someone creeping around a house, was worried they might be trying to steal some kayaks. Report of a vehicle on its side in the ditch at Rocky Lane.

July 7

Report of a man waving a tire iron at a woman on Third Avenue. Fender-bender on Ninth Street and then another on First Avenue.

July 8

Report of a couple having an argument on Fran Lou Lane, woman said she couldn’t stand living anymore. A suspicious woman near the bus stop was asked to move along.

July 9

Someone left a boat, truck and trailer near the high school shop. They were towed away. Fender-bender on Ninth Street. A party called to say she had concerns about her nephew because his father had dementia and kept giving him the car keys, even though the nephew wasn’t old enough to drive. Some folks at a trailer were burning stuff in a barrel. They were told to put it out. A party said they heard gunshots on One Way Street, though when police investigated, the people denied using a gun, though they did have an argument.
