Police followed up on a report from a party that claimed the ex had a boyfriend who was bribing the kids with gifts and money. A moose was reported on Van’s Avenue.

Jan. 17

A man reported he got a phone call scam where the perps threatened to fly to Montana from New Jersey and hurt him if he didn’t sign a contract. Report of juveniles throwing snowballs at a vehicle. A female called to say her key would unlock the apartment door, but wouldn’t unlock the lock. Police helped her out.

Jan. 18

Parking dispute on Second Avenue West. Report from a business about a person who is always driving drunk and might have warrants out.

Jan. 19

Report of a deer with broken legs on the sidewalk on U.S. Highway 2. A woman called to say her husband drives home drunk all the time. A woman called to say she gave out her Social Security number to an unknown male. Report of a mother who beats up on the father. Someone called to say a driver might be transporting a child without a booster seat. Report of a DUI on South Veterans Drive.

Jan. 20

Report of a rig swerving on Highway 2 East. A car went off Talbott Road and took out a sign. Report of a bus throwing sparks. It had a hydraulic problem and was brought in for repairs.

Jan. 21

Police pulled over a suspect for DUI that had their blinker on for a long time. The person was not intoxicated. A landlord claimed a renter was threatening her via email. It was deemed a civil matter.

Jan. 22

Report of three golden retrievers on Martha Road that barked day and night. A woman complained that her truck keys were stolen, as was the battery out of her truck.

Jan. 23

Report of a truck being ransacked on First Avenue East. A Leatherman, flashlight and loose change were taken.

Jan. 24

Report of a student creating a fake Instagram account under a teacher’s profile and was sending out messages to other students. A drunk parent was at the school in a car, but a sober friend was driving. A teen with autism kept hitting a reporting party. They worked it out. A person called to say their snowblower had been stolen on Sixth Street West. A person was doing some flooring work at the truss building at Western Building Centers and found himself locked in behind the gate.

Jan. 25

Someone called to say a car had been dumped on FranLou Park Lane, but it may have just been the neighbor fixing up the old rig, which had a front end that was hanging on the ground and flat tires. Report of a hit and run on a school bus on Talbott Road.

Jan. 26

Hit and run on First Avenue West. Police were looking for an older Four Runner with a loud exhaust. Someone called about a sexual assault that happened a couple of years ago. They said they’d forward a report from the party, who was now in Northern California. A woman called to say a male friend tried to choke her, but then claimed it was all in jest. A taxi service called to say a woman didn’t have her fare. Report of a female with a knife threatening her own life as well as family members. She put the knife down and left the house.
