Judy Ann Mathews
Judy Ann Mathews (Krieg), 71, of Columbia Falls, passed away suddenly on Jan. 8, 2018.
Judy was born Nov. 4, 1946 in Granite Falls, Washington to Frank and Stella (Tri) Deschner.
She graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1964. Judy was a loving passionate woman, very devoted to God and her family. She lived on 7.5 acres at the base of Columbia Mountain. She loved living there with her husband of 18 years, Ellery, her daughter, Kathy, son-in-law Dennis, and her grandchildren, Alex, Jordan and MegAnn. They lovingly referred to their household as “The Compound.”
Judy was EVERYBODY’S Grandma, Gma, Nana or “G-G.” She loved them all the same, whether they were her grandchild or not. Nothing could make her smile brighter, than seeing one of the kids and being with her family and friends. She was also “Mom” and mentor to more than just her own children. She touched many lives, spreading an abundance of love and wisdom over her years.
Judy was preceded in death by her mother, Stella Krieg, her son Michael Vincent, Jr., and her brother Larry Krieg and her previous husband, David Faulkner.
She is survived by her loving husband Ellery “Matt” Mathews, father George Krieg; three sons, Robert Faulkner, Steve Faulkner, Matt Vincent (Pamela); daughter Kathy Emerson (Dennis); step-children Ellen Luke (Dave), Duane Mathews (Julie) and Donald Mathews; sisters Lyla Bostick and Marla Koski (Randy); brother Rondey Krieg (Debbie) and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
