School makeup

Columbia Falls School District Six has scheduled a regular school day on Monday, Jan. 15, to make up the for school closure due to inclement weather on Dec. 20.

Women meet

Columbia Falls Women’s Connection will have a luncheon on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 11:30 a.m. at the North Valley Hospital Community Room in Columbia Falls. Guest speakers are Hilary Shaw, executive director from the Abbie Shelter and Heather Oberholtzer whose story will inspire you to live life to the fullest. Speaker series

The Bob Marshall Wilderness Association will have its annual speaker series at FVCC’s Art and Technology Building, in room 139. Lectures will be held monthly, February through April, from 7 to 8:15 p.m on first Wednesdays. All events are free and open to the public. On Feb 7: “Wild and Scenic Rivers, the 50th Anniversary,” speakers Colter Pence of the Forest Service and author John Fraley, Author and Adjunct Instructor FVCC on Wildlife Conservation will talk about the inspiration for the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act.

Chamber meeting

The Columbia Falls Chamber economic development meeting is Tuesday Jan. 16 from 7 to 8 a.m. at the Back Room of the Nite Owl.

Business after hours

The Columbia Falls Chamber business after hours for January is at Physical Therapy Associates from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 23. Business is at 1850 Ninth St. West.

Chamber ed

The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce will hold an “eat and educate” with the Chamber, hosted by Express Employment. The topic is how to hire and retain employees. Talk runs from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Teakettle Room.

Little Guy Wrestling

Columbia Falls Little Guy Registration will be held Tues January 23rd from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the High School. Must be 5 years old through 6th grade to register. Short six week season with 3-5 practices a week depending on age and Saturday competitions in and outside the valley. Cost is $45 plus $40 refundable singlet deposit. Season begins Monday, Feb. 12.
