Baseball signups

Columbia Falls youth baseball is having its signups through March 18. Forms can be found on its Facebook page as well as at area schools.

CASA signups

You can make a difference in the life of an abused and neglected child. Join CASA for Kids, Thursday, March 15 at 5 p.m., to learn how to become an advocate for a child in foster care. The meeting will be located at the CASA office, 1203 Highway 2 West Suite 37 in the Gateway West Mall. There will be a brief, but informative session, meet CASA advocates and program staff.

Volleyball fundraiser

A Powder-Buff volleyball match is tonight (Wednesday) with a Laurie’s Deli chili feed at 5:30 p.m. and volleyball match at 6:30 p.m. at the Columbia Falls high school. Cost is $5 each or $8 for both. Proceeds benefit Kimberly Peacock and Alia Hanson, who are battling cancer.

Loon talk

The Flathead Audubon Society will provide an informative program on loons on Monday, March 12 from 7-9 p.m. at the Gateway West Community Room in Kalispell. Chris Hammond, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Regional Nongame/Mitigation Biologist in Kalispell will discuss the history of Common Loon conservation in Montana and summarize research from the Montana Loon Study.

Chamber meets

The Columbia Falls Chamber will have its monthly membership lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Teakettle Room on Nucleus Avenue March 13. Guest speakers are the Columbia Falls educational committee.

Egg hunts

The North Valley Eagles Annual Easter egg hunt at Marantette Park in Columbia Falls is March 31 at noon. Great fun for the kids. Visit with the Easter Bunny too. Lots of eggs and prizes for the kids. The Lions Club annual Easter egg hunt is April 1 at Marantette Park, promptly at 1 p.m.

Church music

“Nightcap for the Soul,” an evening of medieval chant, renaissance a cappella choral music and meditative readings by the Kalispell Compline Choir is 7 p.m. March 11 at St. Richard’s Catholic Church.

Job Fair

Columbia Falls will hold a Wildcat Job Fair for employers looking to hire high school students. The fair is 8:30 a.m. to noon at the high school April 17. To register online, visit www.columbiafallschamber.org.
