Perry files for reelection

Columbia Falls’ incumbent representative Zac Perry of Hungry Horse has filed for re-election for House District 2, which includes the City of Columbia Falls and the Canyon. If elected, this would Perry’s third term in office.

Perry will face off against Eureka Republican Neil A. Duram.

In House District 4, which includes rural Columbia Falls, and neighborhoods near the airport, there will be a race. Republican Incumbent Matt Regier is being challenged by Democrat Kwen Shirley.

In the county races, it’s all Republicans so far. Debbie Pierson is running for re-election as clerk and recorder. Travis Ahner is running for county attorney to replace incumbent Ed Corrigan. Incumbent Gary Krueger is running against challengers Gerald “Jay” Scott, Randy Brodehl and Ronalee Skees for county commissioner.

Jordan White, Brian Heino, Calvin Beringer and Keith Stahlberg are running for Sheriff to replace incumbent Chuck Curry, who is retiring. In nonpartisan races, Eric S. Hummel is running for Justice of Peace Dept. 1 and William L. Managhan and Paul Sullivan are squaring off for the Dept. 2 seat.

Adele Krantz is running for another term as county treasurer and Jack Eggensperger is running for another term as county superintendent of schools.

The primary election is June 5.
