Another week of snowstorms has boosted the Flathead River Basin snowpack to 135 percent of average and even more is on the way.

The National Weather service is predicting a storm on Thursday that will spill arctic air over the Continental Divide, which should bring a wintry mix of rain and snow in the valleys and heavy snow in the mountains.

That storm is on the heels of a storm that hit the Flathead late Saturday and ran into Sunday. That storm brought rain and snow to the valley and heavy snow to Glacier Park and higher terrain.

The Noisy Basin SNOTEL site in the Jewel Basin is now the snowiest place in the basin, with 41.8 inches of snow water equivalent — 161 percent above average.

Flattop Mountain in Glacier is at 112 percent of average and Many Glacier is 120 percent of average.

The South Fork is also snowy — Emery Creek is 151 percent of average.
