Food drive
The Columbia Falls Cub Scout pack 4101 will hold its annual food drive for the Columbia Falls Food Bank at Smith’s Food and Drug on Jan. 12 starting at 2 p.m.
Community choir
The Columbia Falls Community Choir will begin gearing up of its 43rd year of singing. Under the direction of Steven Holte, this choir will meet every Sunday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Columbia Falls beginning on Jan. 6. Rehearsals begin at 2 p.m. and last until 4 p.m. Anyone with a desire to sing is invited to attend. The choir sings a variety of choral literature from Pop to Classic style music. The concert season main concerts will be on March 23 and 24 at the Columbia Falls High School Auditorium and a combined concert with the Flathead Valley Community Band in May. Coding classes
Coding classes for youths in elementary school start in January at both Glacier Gateway and Ruder elementary schools. Cost for the classes is $60 and they run through mid-March immediately after school. To register or to get more information go to: kaleidocoding.com.
Aging meeting
County residents are invited to attend a public meeting to gather input for the Agency’s 2019-2022 Area Plan on Aging from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at the South Campus Building, 40 11th Street West in Kalispell. Join the Flathead County Agency on Aging and provide your ideas and suggestions on how to address the challenges, concerns and opportunities related to services provided to older adults in our communities. Bird count
The annual Kalispell Christmas bird count, which covers a 15-mile diameter circle around Kalispell, is Dec. 30. Traditional start is a group breakfast at 7 a.m. at 4B’s Restaurant (formerly Finnegan’s) at 660 East Idaho St. in Kalispell.
