Chamber awards businesses, organizations at Luncheon

Columbia Falls business and community leaders were recognized at the Chamber’s annual Christmas luncheon last week.

Chamber President Phil Carl and Executive Director Laura Gadwa did the honors.

“First Buck” awards were given to new businesses or businesses that have changed hands in the last year. Community Spirit awards were given out to people and organizations that gave done something phenomenal in the past year and there were a handful of special awards presented as well.

First Buck award winners included: Sky Eco Rentals, Josephine’s, Country Inn and Suites by Radisson, Towneplace Suites by Marriot Whitefish, Peddler’s Post, Clearwater Mountain Properties, Mann Mortgage, Builders FirstSource, Glacier Homestead, Crooked Tree Motel and RV Park, Copper Mountain Coffee, All Day Dog Adventures, Anchor Nutrition, Wilderness Provision and Eatery, Gunsight Bar and Grill, Scout and Gather, Glacier Sun and Winery, Sacred Waters and Heavens Peak Healthcare.

Community Spirit awards were presented to Weyerhaesuer and Sportsman & Ski Haus for their commitment to the community over the past year. Sportsman & Ski Haus donated several portable basketball hoops for this year’s 3 on 3 basketball tournament and Weyerhaeuser helped with remodeling work at the Chamber.

Resigning board members Lyle Mitchell, Mary Sterhan and Wesley Gadwa were recognized, as was incoming board member Katie Elletson and Mark Johnson, who will be returning to his previous role as Board President next year.
