Dec. 7

A transient’s rig with flat tires was towed from behind the Columbia Bar. Someone reported “explosion like noises” on Third Avenue. A truck smashed into a pole at a gas station and the driver was trying to get into the store, even though it was closed.

Dec. 8

A woman called dispatch and said she had a blood clot in her leg and was having trouble breathing as she drove herself to the hospital.

Dec. 9

Police were advised of a male who had warrants out for his arrest being in Columbia Falls. Someone hit a street sign by Town Pump. Police responded to a report of suspicious activity of a guy loading up a pickup and then unloading the stuff into a van at Super 1 Foods.

Dec. 10

Two vehicle accident with air bag deployment at Meadow Lake Boulevard. A parent wanted some paraphernalia that was found on their son at school tested for marijuana. Report of a suitcase on the stairwell at the Masonic Lodge. May have been transients as they’ve had problems before. A car slid into a Flathead Electric transformer box. No injuries. A Council Bluffs row involved a fight and a Tahoe with children inside nearly taking out a fence. A woman who was allegedly harassed by an in-law threatened to go to Snappy’s the next day and buy a shotgun to protect herself. Police advised against that. The parties were highly intoxicated and were swearing at dispatch.

Dec. 11

Hit and run on Ninth Street. No injuries. Another fender-bender at Meadow Lake Boulevard.

Dec. 12

Report of a stolen truck on Frontage Road. A shop called to see if a shotgun a man was trying to sell them was stolen. Two vehicle accident at Meadow Lake Boulevard. No injuries. Fireworks or gunshots heard on Fourth Avenue. A person called to complain that their neighbor was using a woodsplitter at 6 p.m. every night.

Dec. 13

Report of a child in a dirty car pressing his face in the window of passing cars without a seatbelt. Report of a customer kicking out of the window of a “smoke shack” at a casino. A teen wanted police to allegedly shoot him in an apparent suicide threat. Report of a person’s tires slashed on Wildcat Drive and then a call from the same person who was worried the people he just evicted would kill him. A suicidal person said there was a “couple of bad people” they wanted to take out before killing themselves. Road rage in the highway — someone flipped off the driver and threw something out of the window at them.

Dec. 14

Graffiti spray painted on a building on Fifth Street. Police investigated a report of child abuse — kid was hit with a belt. A car flipped over on Railroad Street. A man said his wife punched him in the face after a fight. The two agreed to be separated for the night. A woman fell on the ice near the Red Bridge and needed help. Drunk guys were throwing each other around in a house on Fifth Street.

Dec. 15

A burglary call on Hilltop at an abandoned home was no burglary. The women pulled over because they had to pee. Fire on a deck on Diane Road. Probably caused by a cigarette thrown into a plastic pot. Potting soil is often flammable, firefighters note.

Dec. 16

Possible shoplifters at a business on Highway 40. Report of a male putting “stuff” on train tracks. A man took photos of a woman’s car as she took care of stray animals, so she called police. Ambulance responded to a sick call on Fourth Avenue and the sick person kept trying to hit them with a stick.

Dec. 17

A person woke up on 10th Street to an unknown rig parked in their backyard. Fender bender on Nucleus. Hit and run on Ninth Street. Trailer backed into another rig.
