Heavens Peak Health Care opens in Columbia Falls
Laura and Dan Hall are glad to be back home in Columbia Falls.
After living in Texas for more than 10 months, the Hall’s made the move back to Columbia Falls and have opened a new medical practice at 1035 9th Street West, Heavens Peak Health Care.
After working the healthcare field for 17 years, including 10 years at the Columbia Falls Health Clinic, Laura, a nurse practitioner, decided it was time to give back the community by opening her own practice.
“We felt the call to come back to the valley. We decided to open up for ourselves and give it a go. It just felt like the right thing to do,” Laura said. “We just want to be an independent clinic and have something to offer our community. Our plan is to have a small, hometown clinic and try to provide the best care possible while being as active in the community as we can.”
A 1988 graduate of Columbia Falls High School, Laura enlisted the help of her husband, friend and classmate Lisa Connor, Laura and Dan’s daughter, Alysha Wassum and Diana Waldheim, who served the area as a fire fighter, EMT and Search and Rescue team member in Blankenship for 30 years.
“We are all from Northwest Montana and we know the area’s people and we are a part of the community. We’ve worked with these people. We played sports with them. We know the people of this area as more than patients, they are our friends and family,” Dan said.
“We are well vested in out community and we have interest in making sure that we are a positive influence on this community,” Laura added.
The community’s response has been very positive since the practice opened last week.
“The response from the community has been great. It’s been pretty steady here so far. We had more than 50 patients in our first week,” Laura said.
The family practice clinic offers a wide variety of services, including well child/pediatrics, well woman exams, general exams and practice as well as CDL/physicals.
Along with their work at the clinic, Laura and Dan say they are looking forward to being active in the community once again through volunteer work and community events. While the clinic had only been open a week, they did put together a float for last week’s Parade of Lights in Columbia Falls.
“We decided that if we are going to be active in the community, we should get started right way. So, we put together a float and made sure we got into the parade,” Laura said.
Heavens Peak Health Care is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and can be reached at 406-897-2000.
