Christmas programs planned at area schools

A host of holiday concerts are coming up at area schools. Here’s a look at them:

Ruder Elementary will have its Christmas programs on Dec. 19 and 20. Kindergarten and first grade are at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at the school; fourth and fifth grades are 9 a.m. Dec. 20 and second and third grades are at 10:15 a.m. Dec. 20.

At Glacier Gateway School, the kindergarteners are at 9:30 a.m., first, second and two third grades (Mrs. Hess and Mr. Miller) are at 10:30 a.m. and fourth, fifth and two third grades (Mrs. Caudill and Mrs. Cox) are at 1:30 p.m. in the upper gym on Dec. 20.

At Deer Park School, they’ll have their annual community dinner at 5:30 p.m. with performances starting at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 20 at the school.

On the high school end, the Columbia Falls drumline will march in the Night of lights parade Dec. 7. The Sonifers and Columbians will be the the Coop after the parade.

On 7 p.m. Dec. 17 the underclassmen bands and choirs perform at the Little Theater. At 7 p.m. Dec. 19 the upperclassmen bands and choirs perform their holiday concert in the Little Theater. At 6 p.m. Dec. 21 there is a holiday Jazz cafe at the Cedar Creek Lodge, featuring the Columbians, Sonifers, the Jazz Factory and the junior high band.

At the Columbia Falls junior high, the sixth-grade band has its concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 4. and the 7th and 8th grade bands are 6 p.m. Dec. 11. The choir concerts are 6 p.m. Dec. 13.
