Trust event
The Flathead Land Trust is hosting “The Land Affair” on Aug. 16 at Cypress Yard in Whitefish as a benefit to celebrate and protect open spaces and wild places throughout northwest Montana. The Trust has also been instrumental in helping the city of Columbia Falls with its fishing pond project. The colorful and festive evening event will include live music by singer/songwriter Mike Murray, local farm-sourced appetizers, beer, wine and champagne, and an exciting silent auction and live drive. Community Market
The Columbia Falls Community Market is 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16 at the Coop. Featured music will be Good ol’ Boyz and brewer is Flathead Lake Brewing Company and Whistling Andy Distillery. Sponsor is Great Northern Whitewater.
Chamber meets
The Columbia Falls Area Chamber’s Aug. 21 Economic Development meeting is led by our local Drug Task Force Steering Committee. They will discuss its work in our local community at the Back Room of the Nite Owl from 7:15 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Ribbon cutting
The Radisson Inn and Suites on Highway 2 East in Kalispell will celebrate with a joint ribbon cutting with the Columbia Falls and Evergreen Chamber of commerces at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 16. The public is invited to attend.
Business party
Glacier Bank will host a business after hours party from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 28 at its Columbia Falls branch. The public is invited to attend.
Forest meeting
The Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest will host a public meeting in Browning on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at the Glacier Peaks Hotel beginning at 5 p.m. The meeting is to talk about the forest’s new draft forest plan document.
