Trust event

The Flathead Land Trust is hosting “The Land Affair” on Aug. 16 at Cypress Yard in Whitefish as a benefit to celebrate and protect open spaces and wild places throughout northwest Montana. The Trust has also been instrumental in helping the city of Columbia Falls with its fishing pond project. The colorful and festive evening event will include live music by singer/songwriter Mike Murray, local farm-sourced appetizers, beer, wine and champagne, and an exciting silent auction and live drive. Women meet

Columbia Falls Women’s Connection will have a luncheon Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 11:30 a.m. at the North Valley Hospital Community Room in Columbia Falls. The Child Advocate Team will share how they help needy children and homeless kids in our community. Linda Dreyer is an internationally awarded quilter from Eureka will share her story of how her crushing childhood grief was changed to joy, peace and health. Donations of men’s deodorant, women’s hygiene products and school supplies will be collected for Child Advocate Team. Cost is $8 and all women are welcome to attend. Lions concert

The Columbia Falls Lions Club will hold their last concert for the 2018 summer series in Marantette Park in Columbia Falls on Aug. 9 at 7:30 p.m. This concert will feature the Don Lawrence Orchestra.

Community Market

The Columbia Falls Community Market is 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9 at the Coop. Featured music will be Cocinando and brewer is Jeremiah Johnson Brewing Company and Montgomery Distillery.

Hockaday event

The Hockaday Museum of Art announces an international edition of our annual A Timeless Legacy exhibition, A Timeless Legacy: Peace Park 2018.
