Swim Cats take second at Divisional Meet
Fourty six members of the Swim Cats will be making their way to the state meet in Conrad this weekend after the team finished second at the Divisional Meet in Choteau Saturday and Sunday.
Columbia Falls came away from the meet with 16 top-three finishes, including eight third place, three second place, and five first place medals.
Alanis Peterson led the way for the Cats, finishing first in three events in the girls’ 9-10 division, including the 100 individual medley (1:31.99), the 50 breaststroke (47.52) and the 50 butterfly (40.37).
Camile Cronk picked up the other two first-place finishes for the Cats at the meet as she won the 50 freestyle with a time of 36.28 seconds and the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:22.69. Cronk also swims in the girls’ 9-10 division.
Kensley Cheff, Cronk and Tyler Hull each picked up second-place finishes for the Cats while Connor Cheff, Taryn Borgen (2), Jeremiah Venegas, Tyler Venegas (2) Talon Borgen and Norah Bagley each picked up third-place finishes.
The Cats had 56 swimmers at the meet.
