Sports meeting

The annual fall sports meeting is 6 p.m. Monday Aug. 6 in the Little Theater at the Columbia Falls High School. All athletes planning on playing sports in the fall should attend the meeting.

Lion’s concert

The Columbia Falls Lions Club Concert Series continues with the Columbia Community Choir singing this Thursday Aug. 2 at Marantette Park in Columbia Falls. Concert is from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Park reunion

The annual Glacier Park employees reunion is noon Aug. 19 at the community building in the park with a potluck lunch. All former employees are encouraged to attend.

College soccer

An exhibition college soccer match is 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5 at Flip Darling Field, with Northwest University versus Legends (Montana All Stars). Fall recreation league signups will also be at the game. The game is free and open to the public.

Community Market

The Columbia Falls Community Market is 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2 at the Coop. Featured music will be Soul Simple and brewer is Bonsai Brewing and Willie’s Distillery.

Glacier music

Mike Rhinestone Rihner performs every night this week through Aug. 4 at the East Glacier Park Lodge from 7 to 10 p.m. in the lobby. Rihner plays piano, guitar and vocals.

Sing along

The Montana House in Apgar is hosting an evening sing-a-long on Saturday, Aug. 11 from 7 – 9 p.m. in the Kintla Camp event room. All are welcome to join guitar instructor Steve Eckels who will lead group singing of great songs of the folk revival of the 1950s and 1960s. Selected music include songs made popular by Peter, Paul & Mary, The Kingston Trio, The Weavers, Pete Seeger, John Denver, Bob Dylan, The Carter Family, Lead Belly, Harry Belafonte, Woody Guthrie and many others. Song sheets will be provided. Steve invites participants to bring their stringed instruments for an old-fashioned hootenanny. In addition, he will perform several solo guitar selections from his albums “American Sampler” and “Cowboy Classics.”
