Preschool

The Columbia Falls HERO preschool at the high school starts April 16 and runs until June 1.

All children attending must have their vaccinations, be ages 3 through 5 and be potty trained. The preschool is taught by high school students. It starts April 16, with a “meet the teens” from 1 to 2 p.m. and then is weekdays when school is in session from 12:45 p.m. to 3 p.m. for 20 days. Cost is $30 for whole session. Bird talk

The Crown of the Continent Research Learning Center at Glacier National Park is celebrating birds and their importance to the ecosystem with a special presentation by Glacier National Park wildlife biologist Lisa Bate and Montana Wild Wings Recovery Center, a wildlife rehabilitation organization in Northwest Montana, on Thursday, April 12 from noon to 1 p.m. as part of its annual brown bag speaker series.

This event is free and open to the public.

Women meet

Columbia Falls Women’s Connection will have a luncheon on Wednesday, April 18 at 11:30 a.m. at the North Valley Hospital Community Room in Columbia Falls. Guest speakers are Meagan Upton, owner of Columbia Falls Massage Therapy and Debbie McPherson will share her story of survival from teen drug abuse, homelessness and failed relationships. Donations for the upcoming Stonecroft Ministries indoor garage sale will be collected. Cost is $8 and all women are welcome to attend. River films

The Wild River Films Tour is coming to Columbia Falls April 19 at the Angel Theater at the old LaSalle Grange. Doors open at 6 p.m. and films start at 7 p.m. featuring the world premier screening of “Last Call,” U.S. premier screening of “Confluir,” as well as “The Time Travelers,” “Chicken Raper (AKA Stateline Rapid),” “Vallecito,” and “Return from Desolation.” The event is sponsored by American Rivers and the Greater Yellowstone Coalition in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act.
