Waterton townsite reopens, but most of Waterton still closed
Waterton Lakes National Park in Canada has partially reopened after the Kenow Fire burned about 30 percent of the park earlier this month.
Last week park officials opened the Waterton townsite and the entrance road to the Park, but all other areas, both frontcountry and backcountry are still closed.
The fire burned roughly 50,000 acres of the park and about 70 percent of its forests.
There is no stopping at any scenic pull-outs along the entrance road either. All other roads in the park are closed to the public.
