The Central Montana Type II Incident Management Team and Glacier National Park will be hosting a public meeting for the Sprague, Adair Peak and Elder Creek Fires tonight (Friday). The meeting will be at the Community Building at Glacier National Park Headquarters at 7 p.m.

While many fires across the region have seen some rain and even snow, the Sprague Fire has remained dry, though much colder temperatures and higher humidity have slowed the blaze.

It still continue to creep toward the Sun Road down the west flanks of the fire.

The National Weather Service had predicted snow and rain for the fire, but it hasn’t materialized west of the divide in the Park. Snow has fallen on Logan Pass and rain has fallen at lower elevations east of the divide.

The west side of the Going-to-the-Sun Road remains closed and Apgar Village and most of West Glacier remain under an evacuation warning. With north and east wind, smoke has been unpleasant in Apgar.
