The Glacier Lanes bowling alley in Columbia Falls is for sale.

But the alley hasn’t sold, co-owner Steve Ferkovich noted recently.

Rumors have hit the streets that Smith’s Food and Drug bought the alley, but that hasn’t happened, he said. There’s also rumors that developer Mick Ruis bought it as well. Not true, either.

It is true, he said, that Smith’s has shown an interest in it. Smith’s would like to build a gas station. But none of those deals have come to fruition. In the meantime, the alley is forming fall leagues and going on as normal, he said.

Ferkovich and his partner, Greg Bauska, have owned the alley for about 20 years. Ferkovich said he’d like to find a buyer who wants to keep it as a bowling alley. Bowling is popular in Columbia Falls. About 200 adults are in the leagues and another 75 youth. Folks can also walk-in and bowl as well.
