Enrollment is up at School District 6 schools in Columbia Falls.

Total enrollment as of Sept. 5, is 2,128, up from 2,086 in September 2016 and 2,059 in June 2017.

Superintendent Steve Bradshaw cautioned that the 2,128 could drop slightly if students enrolled last year, but don’t show up this school year, but the numbers will likely still show growth from the last school year.

Ruder Elementary enters the 2017-2018 school year with 467 students, up from 458 in September 2016 and 464 in June 2017.

Glacier Gateway Elementary has 514 students entering this school year, up from 487 last June and 494 last September.

Columbia Falls Junior High School has 494 students enrolled, compared to 487 last September and 473 in June.

Columbia Falls High School has 653 students enrolled, up from 647 last September and 635 when school ended in June.

Enrollment is important for school finances, as the district gets a set amount of state aid for each student.
