Glacier Glow Run, rescheduled for October, due to smoke
Unhealthy air conditions caused by the numerous fires in Northwest Montana have forced this year’s Glacier Glow Run/Walk to be pushed to a later date.
Originally scheduled for Friday, Sept. 15, the Glacier Glow Run at The Coop in Columbia Falls will now be held Saturday, Oct. 14. New registration and event details can be found at www.GlacierGlow.com.
“With so many participants, volunteers and spectators looking forward to this event, it simply did not feel right encouraging outdoor activity considering how bad the air quality is right now,” said Anton Kaufer, director of advertising at the Daily Inter Lake. “Pushing a month will likely bring much healthier air quality, an earlier start time and since it’s mid-October we’ll incorporate a Halloween costumer contest to up the fun factor!”
This year is the second year the event will happen at The Coop in Columbia Falls, and it promises to be bigger and better. The event has seen improved community and business support this year with top sponsor Larry’s Tractor, Trailers and More coming onboard, along with Advanced Restoration, Glacier Bank, Flathead Electric Co-op, Westcraft Homes, Sportsman & Ski Haus, NAPA Auto Parts, Western Building Center, Barn Door Rentals, Murdochs Ranch & Home Supply, Saw Performance Specialist, Teakettle Cafe, Giggles, Jo Mama’s, Deaux Girl and Osos. The event is presented by the Daily Inter Lake and Hungry Horse News, and will benefit the Glacier Boys and Girls Club.
Additional sponsorship opportunities are still available and more detail can be found at the web site or by calling Sunny Carlon at 406-758-4465 or scarlon@dailyinterlake.com.
