Barbara Jean Waddell

Resident of Concord, California

June 7, 1927 – October 8, 2017

Barbara Jean Waddell, aka Bobbie, aka Jeannie, passed away having bravely born the affliction of dementia for the past few years. She touched many lives with her loving, generous, intelligent, and sassy spirit. Barbara was born in Kalispell. She graduated from Flathead High School in 1946 and married Eugene Franklin Waddell in 1947. They had two children, Mary Margaret Waddell and Nancy Jean Waddell, who both survive her.

Her husband, Gene aka Bud aka Shorty; mother, Mary Esther Johnson Laird Miller; father, Charles Miller; sister, Margaret Laird Hughes; and brother, David Charles Miller predeceased her.

She was a kind, loyal, giving and forgiving friend to most everyone she met in life – and was exemplary in promoting those very same characteristics in others. She loved reading, writing, and all forms of beauty - both of the outer world, and that, which is in people’s characters.

Many thanks go out to family, friends, and neighbors for their sincere caring during her illness.

A gathering will take place later to share memories of her; but Barbara wanted neither formal service nor flowers – rather that donations be made to a library.
