Richard Austin Perkins

Richard Austin Perkins, known by most as Dick, was born on Dec. 31, 1935 and met Jesus on Oct. 5th, 2017. He was the kind of man who’s legacy lives on long past his years. A man of honor and humility, who would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He was kind and giving beyond any expectation. There wasn’t a room too dark for his smile to illuminate. His “hello” was vibrant and welcoming.

So many people were so blessed to love him. He was a hero and always will be. To his country and also to his wife Linda of nearly 53 years; his children - David, John and Robert Masters, Rozella Hearn and Ed Perkins; his countless grandchildren and great grandchildren and anyone lucky enough to call him friend. He had many great loves in his life, his family, his guns and his fishing pole to name a few. The greatest of all of these were his family.

In his final moments he was wrapped with the deepest love.

Surrounded by his children and loved ones he peacefully made his way home. To walk along the shorelines of heaven and fish the crystal waters, waiting for all of us to once again be by his side. “I can no longer see you with my eyes or touch you with my hands but I will feel you in my heart forever.”
