Wildcats roll over Indians, face Chiefs on the road

Running back Colton McPhee had a great game. He had eight carries for 101 and three touchdowns. He also caught a screen pass for 33 yards and a touchdown, all in the first half.

The offensive line did a great job opening up holes. On the defensive end, the Cats simply stifled the Indians, getting pressure on the quarterback every play. They held Browning to about 100 yards offense, most of that was on one play.

“Our kids did a great job,” coach Jaxon Schweikert said.

He noted that McPhee’s quickness makes him a tough target.

“He has such good lateral quickness, you can’t get a good shot at him,” he said.

All told, the Cats rushed for 284 yards. Quarterback Austin Green ran for 125 yards on four carries, Logan Kolodejchuk had eight carries for 54 yards and Easton Sempf rushed for 30 yards to round out the top rushers in the game.

On the passing end, Green was 6 for 12 for 88 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

The Cats scored early and often against Browning, rolling up 28 points in the first quarter.

Auguste Emond hit all the extra points, but missed a field goal late in the first half.

The Cats (3-1) travel to Ronan (1-4) this Friday. The Chiefs are coming off a 24-23 loss to Whitefish.
