Trailer fire reason for smoke plume over Columbia Heights
Fire consumed a junk trailer Thursday morning at the Oh’s Body Shop wrecking yard in Columbia Heights off Jensen Road. Bad Rock Fire Chief Kirk Katzenmeyer said a brush fire caught the trailer on fire.
The trailer was a total loss. No one was injured. The fire started about 10 a.m. Firefighters were back in service about noon.
Bad Rock Fire Department nine personnel at the blaze, including two tender trucks. Columbia Falls responded with mutual aid and a tender truck as well.
A plume of black smoke hung over the Heights from the fire.
