Columbia Falls catcher Hannah Freeman just misses a pop-up in front of the plate against Polson. Freeman had a home run to help lead the Wildkats to a win over conference rival Polson Tuesday night in Columbia Falls.

Columbia Falls went 2-1 at the LaVerne Combo tourney over the weekend in Butte.

The Wildkats dropped Huntley Project 8-6 on Friday.

KJ Schweikert belted a home run and pitched the win in the victory.

On Saturday, the Wildkats gave up four runs in the seventh to lose to Corvallis, 6-3, but they dropped Stevensville 6-1.

Trista Cowan had two RBIs in the win. Schweikert gave up just two hits on the mound.

The Wildkats regular season wraps up this week with a schedule that will define their season.

After a slow start, the Kats are batting much better.

On Tuesday they beat conference rival Polson, 5-1. Hannah Freeman had solo home run, a double and threw out a Polson player leaning too far off of first base from her catcher position. Schweikert allowed just five hits. Peyton Kehr stole home on a passed ball and Kaylene Volkman nabbed a great catch in right field to squash a Polson rally.

A pair of wins over Frenchtown and Polson would put the Kats at 4-2 in conference play.

Both squads beat the Kats earlier this year.
