A woman with Wildkat roots recently opened a physical therapy clinic in Columbia Dalls.

Dulcie Berube opened Berube Physical Therapy at 39 6th St. West, Suite C with her fiancé Justin Lee and Mireille Bierens.

“We are mainly female-run and one of our missions is to empower women and youth to dream big. With the hospitals as the biggest providers in the valley we are really proud to open a private clinic to serve our community,” said Mireille Bierens, co-founder and vice president of business development and marketing.

Dulcie is a Columbia Falls native. She graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 1996. She went to Montana State University in Bozeman, then obtained her master’s of science in physical therapy from the University of Montana in Missoula.

Berube chose to study physical therapy, “because I went through it multiple times and I saw the huge difference it made in my life,” she said recently.

“It’s a major thing to gain control of your body and have it work the way you want to,” she said. She played basketball, volleyball and track for the Wildkats.

Her career began in Helena as an outpatient physical therapist and then as director of rehabilitation in a skilled nursing facility. She returned to the Flathead Valley in 2011, working as an assistant director of outpatient therapy at Immanuel Lutheran Skilled Care Center, and later working in full-time outpatient therapy.

This year she decided to open Berube Physical Therapy. It’s the fourth new business in downtown in the past month.

Her experience includes neurological and stroke rehabilitation, total joint rehab, back and neck pain, joint therapy, aquatic therapy and sports rehabilitation.

She lives in Columbia Falls with her family, where she is active in the community. She has two sons, Lane and Kyler Voermans. Also in Columbia Falls are her fiancé, Justin Lee, and his daughter, Maci, and Breube’s parents, Nino and Sue Berube.

Berube Physical Therapy offers free consultations to determine if physical therapy is the right treatment for an injury. All insurances, including Medicaid, Medicare and Veterans Administration are accepted. For a full list of services visit the clinic’s website at berubept.com.
