Brewery anniversary

Backslope Brewing celebrates its one-year anniversary on March 9. Old Sap is playing music from 5 to 7 p.m. and the brewery will raffle off prizes every hour between 2 and 4 p.m. It will also release a special imperial IPA brewed to celebrate its one year anniversary. Softball last chance

Columbia Falls Youth Softball Association registrations are expected now. Deadline is March 11.

You can print a registration form off at our website www.wildkatsoftball.org or pick one up at all area schools. There will also be a registration drop off night at the Columbia Falls Fire Hall on Thursday, March 9 from 6-9 p.m. If you have any questions you can reach Tangie at 253-6069.

Bowhunter class

A bowhunter education class is at the North Valley Community Center in Columbia Falls May 18 and 19, 6:30-9 p.m. and May 20, 12-5:30 p.m. Contact Dave Yeats at 892-4527 for more information. Students must register online at fwp.mt.gov. Follow links to Education, Hunter Education, and View Schedule. By state law, all first time bowhunters must pass the bowhunter education course in order to purchase an archery license in Montana.

Baseball news

Columbia Falls Baseball will be holding assessments this Sunday, March 12 at Glacier Gateway. Minors will run from 1 - 3 p.m. followed by majors from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. All parents are encouraged to have their players in attendance. Registrations will be taking place as well.

Columbia Falls Baseball is also currently looking for individual(s) who may be interested in earning some extra cash between late April and late July operating concessions. Please contact Wendy Murphy at 406-261-7663 for more information.

Pet food drive

Kate Hatfield, an advanced studies eighth grade student at Columbia Falls Junior High School, is holding a pet food drive for the Humane Society Friday, March 10 to Saturday, March 11. Drop-off boxes are located at Super One Foods, Smiths Foods, and the Columbia Falls Junior High. All types of wet and dry cat and dog food are needed.

Free throw

There is a free throw competition at the Columbia Falls Junior High Saturday, March 11, from 10 to 11 a.m. for athletes 10 to 14 sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Athletes just register at the door.
