Feb. 20
The male motorist of a white truck with a rusty ladder rack reportedly made obscene gestures to a woman driving a black suburban on U.S. Highway 2. The woman reported he had came up fast behind her and was mad that she hadn’t moved over. The truck followed her to the Columbia Falls Police Department, then an officer followed her to pick up her child and then back out of town.
A 28-year old man broke into his father’s locked house and got into an argument with his father. The son had reportedly been drinking and was violent with his father.
Feb. 21
A female motorist in a red Ford Explorer backed into a white four-door Oldsmobile on First Street East at 6:33 p.m. The victim asked the woman for cash, which she didn’t have, then left.
A man, who frequently open carried a pistol, threatened another man with a gun at a local gym.
A female customer threatened a bartender on Ninth Street West when she wasn’t served alcohol.
Feb. 22
An out-of-state father requested a welfare check on his kids, 8 and 10, who had missed 65 days of school. The mother had hung up on him and wasn’t responding to the school.
A 16-year-old ran away from home in a Mini Cooper, then ditched the vehicle on Frontage Road. His girlfriend called his mom and told her where he was, but the mom refused to go pick him up because she is smaller than him and he had threatened to hit her before disappearing.
Feb. 23
Two dogs were found without their owner on River Road, taken to the kennel and later picked up by their owner. A day later the woman who found the dogs reported that someone contacted her claiming to be the true owner and that one of the dogs were stolen two years ago.
Report of a child without a car seat in a Chevy truck on Ninth Street West. The driver of the truck made an obscene gesture to the reporting party and drove off.
Feb. 24
Paul Robert West, 22, was stopped at South Hilltop and Walsh Road at 2:06 a.m. He was charged with careless driving and DUI.
Feb. 25
A woman called the Columbia Falls Police Department from inside the Bandit Bar. The woman said she was inside the establishment’s bathroom when “they shut the lights off on her.” She said she had been yelling to get someone to turn the lights back on, but had been unsuccessful. Before officers could respond to offer assistance, she told dispatch she was able to find her way out of the bathroom and decided to walk home.
A Nucleus Avenue business said a tent and a bag with other items was left on the corner for the past hour.

Someone tried to break into a rig on A Street. The window was partially broken. Nothing was taken.
